The City That Enticed Me...
There are many lovely destinations to visit around the world, but one in particular holds a special place in my heart. It's not just because I spent two years of my life there, but also because it holds memories of my hostel stay and the enthralling beauty of the place that I cherish.
So, before I reveal the name of the place, I'll let you make some
educated guesses.
This city is Andhra Pradesh's industrial hub and India's fifth-largest freight
port. However, it is more than just a port; it is a lovely
coastal city with enthralling beaches.
So, any predictions at this point?
Let me tell you a little bit more about it.
Even if you are a solo traveller or travelling with friends or family, this
place has much to offer. There are numerous tourist attractions to explore here.
Yeah, I am talking about Visakhapatnam, named after Visakha, a Hindu god
of valor. It is popularly known as Vizag.

‘The city of destiny’ contains some of my best and bittersweet memories.
I recall how much I wanted to travel downtown despite the fact that I lived on
the outskirts.
With different beaches such as Rushikonda Beach, Yarada Beach, Rama
Krishna Beach, Buddhist sites, Submarine Museum, Simhachalam Temple, caverns,
natural beauty, and more, this city has its own attractiveness.
You will discover a plethora of articles devoted solely to the city, but
let me share with you the sensations I experienced while living amid the city's splendour.
At night, this location takes on a whole different appearance. My older
brother and I would frequently go on bike trips together. His many trails
opened up newer spots in the city. The route leading to Rushikonda Beach has
the ability to numb your senses and instill a feeling of joy in you.
The sight of Rushikonda beach at night, with lights on the edge of the
beach, jets flying overhead, and ships in front, creates an entirely different atmosphere.
It awakened in me, a sense of liveliness and touched every corner of my heart
and mind, urging me to visit various other places and listen to the stories
these places have to narrate.
I enjoyed the soft touch of the beach waters, the embraces of wind
blowing around me, and the visuals of wide skies over the active city life with
golden and white lights on the streets.
When it comes to the city's food delicacies, how can we forget about the
sweets?
Pootharekulu, Bobbatlu, Kalakand, Nuvulla-Pappu Vundalu, Rasagulla, and
many more mouth-watering delectable sweets are some of Vizag's most famous
sweets. Kalakand is my favorite of them. What else could I want when the
sweetness of a dish melts in my mouth, allowing me to appreciate the workout my
jaws does?
Dosa, Liver kabab, Idli, Batani, sweet corn, Punugulu, and Bongu chicken
are just a few of the delicious foods available in the city. Isn't this quite
scrumptious? Yes, it certainly is!
In Vizag, I find peace that is more than just memories of my dorm life.
It is not by chance that certain places leave a lasting imprint in your
memory and become near to your heart. It is because that place offers you
something you can't refuse. Some experiences are difficult to put into words.
It's just a feeling that talks a lot in your head but doesn't say anything when
you want to write it down.
The gift of tranquilly and the lessons of solitude has given me a new
perspective on the city.
Enjoying night rides, having an ice-cream while sitting on the side of
long roads, capturing lovely pictures of stunning sights, walking slowly with
hair dancing to the beats of the wind, sitting on the lap of nature's beauty
under the warmth of the sun, finding a shady spot under some huge leaves spread
by a tree, and taking selfies of big fat smiles. In such an appealing and
breath-holding place, there is so much to say and experience about what I enjoyed
doing.
So, the next time you visit Vizag, don't forget to learn unheard and
unwritten stories that will leave you with a whole different sensation. Welcome
new experiences with open arms, and figure out what it is about that place that
makes you feel so strongly that you can't help but keep it close to your heart.
